-------------------------------------------------
I have been an outdoorsman for over 55 years and an Eagle Scout (Class of 1974) and participated in Scouting activities for over 30 years.
Graduated from the L. L. Bean Fly Fishing School in 1985. I have fished freshwater in the Great Lakes and Maine for 40 years primarily in Washington County. I have learned to fly cast all types of fly rods on streams and lakes and tie a wide variety fly patterns. Stream entomology combined with tying a fly or streamer which catches a fish is very rewarding.
I am a promoter of catch & release and stream ethics.
I have belonged to several conservation and fly fishing clubs/groups over the years. I am currently a Life Member of Fly Fishers International (formerly Federation of Fly Fishers) and a member of the Atlantic Salmon Federation. I present regularly at the Dead Fly Fishers Society in Cleveland, Ohio. I have presented on Carrie Stevens, L. L. Bean, John Olin and others.
I own and have rebuilt a 1940 square-stern Old Town Canoe. I have canoed, hiked, camped, fished, snowshoed extensively across the United States, Alaska and Ireland, Iceland, Labrador, and Quebec. I am a NCAA letterman and Marksman.
In addition hold a Certified Public Accountant (Ohio License #18680); graduate John Carroll University 1978 B.S. in B.A., graduate University of Colorado 2003 MBA. Held professional leadership positions in healthcare and higher-education for over 40 years.
I enjoy teaching others outdoor skills including outdoor ethics.
